Our Programs

Our 3-month residential program is based on a common sense understanding of substance abuse. KBRH encourages and provides assistance to men in developing a lifestyle focused on the development of positive interpersonal relationships, problem solving skills, leisure activity, work ethics and habits. Clients requiring longer-term care may apply for extensions of up to one year through our Transitional Home facility.

The KBRH program is based on complete abstinence as a goal for those honestly seeking help. In conjunction with individual and group counselling sessions, participation in 12-step meetings and sponsorship is mandatory and necessary. It is through this structure and fellowship that clients learn how to apply their understanding of the 12-Step principles of recovery into their lives.

Referrals to the KBRH Program are accepted from many sources including, Addiction Treatment Centres, Physicians, Hospitals, Police, Social Services, A.A/N.A Members, Employee Assistance Programs and concerned citizens. Upon admittance (intake), new residents set goals for themselves and what they hope to achieve. Personal evaluations are required weekly from each resident, and are reviewed with their counsellor to help them stay on pace to meet these goals. The daily schedule shows a typical program day while living in our home:
